To all students in grades 7-12:

Bakersfield Sister City invites you to become a founding member of a new Youth Program that will offer you opportunities to meet and exchange ideas with students from other cultures.

We anticipate holding monthly meetings with a cross-cultural activity at each. There may also be weekend “field trips” to cultural events (e.g. a Japanese Festival) and locations (e.g. Little Tokyo, Olvera Street, or China Town in L.A.)

You and your family could also host a student visiting from one of Bakersfield’s Sister Cities. You may also have an opportunity to travel to one of Bakersfield’s Sister Cities, such as Bucheon, South Korea or Wakayama, Japan.
